For Fans of the Outlander Books and Show

With Season 3 starting today, I've decided to simplify the spoiler policy for this forum.

The onus with regards to spoilers will be on those who are not up-to-date to avoid posts that will be clearly labelled as containing potential spoilers, and not on those who are up-to-date in trying to guess what might or might not constitute a spoiler for someone. Outlander presents a special challenge re: spoilers because of the diversity of its audience. Some have read all the books (many times) and are 100% current with the show. Others are current with the show, but haven't read any of the books. Some may be book only fans and haven't seen the show at all. And some have read the books, but skip all the bits that don't involve Claire and Jamie (no seriously -- I have seen people say as much in other communities). Truth of the matter is that it is simply impossible to guess what might be considered a spoiler for someone because we're all coming to this from different places.

The new policy for spoilers is as follows. For posts discussing the current season (either the general discussion thread that will be started for each new episode, or any thread started relating to something raised in an episode, please follow these steps:

1. Warn of spoilers in the Subject, e.g. Episode 301 General Discussion *SPOILERS*
2. Begin the post with a general disclaimer along the lines of "WARNING: This post and discussion may contain spoilers for anyone who is not current with the Starz series Outlander (including seasons 1 and 2) or who has not read the first three books in the series."
3. Put the rest of the entry behind a cut.
4. When replying to the post, or to other replies made in the thread, no spoiler warnings or cuts will be required.

Again, the onus will be on those who are not up-to-date to avoid having things spoiled for them by not reading the comments on these entries until they have caught up with the series.
