It's really unfortunate that DW won't allow embedding content from Twitter -- because of that, I can't directly embed some of the following videos.

1. Season 4 Preview from Vanity Fair -- the article includes some new photos, as well as video that explores what we can expect this season. Worth a watch!

2. Interview with Sophie Skelton on Brianna's journey in Season 4

3. Cast interview from MTV News (featuring Sam, Caitriona, Sophie and Richard):

Ron D. Moore, Maril Davis, Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Richard Rankin and Sophie Skelton did a panel for Paleyfest in NYC. Here's the video of the event:

The actual panel starts around the 2:31 mark.

Video interview for Gold Derby. Cait's internet connection was a bit dodgy, so the video freezes up from time to time, but the audio is fine.

Here are links to separate interviews Sam and Caitriona gave to the LA Times. There's a video of the full interview at the end of each article (approx 30 minutes each -- not to be confused with the short clip video at the start of each article).

Possible spoilers if you've not seen season 3 (or read Voyager).

Panel discussion featuring Cait, Sam, Ron Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Matt Roberts, and Jon Gary Steele. The first 16+ minutes are a "highlights of season 3" montage, the discussion starts after that.

First up, Caitriona Balfe won Best Actress TV Drama at the recent Irish Film and TV Awards (IFTA). She is also sporting a lovely new shorter haircut, which you can see in the photo below taken at the event.

Second, Outlander Starz released a photo of Rollo in honour of the Year of the Dog. The only other official photo we've seen of this very important cast member was over a year ago, when they cast the puppies. Here is one of those two pups all grown up:

Caitriona Balfe is engaged, according to this article from People. The lucky dude is Tony McGill, whom she has been linked to since at least 2015.

I doubt very much this will do anything to silence the supershippers and their Sam-Cait fixation.

The Golden Globe Awards nominations were announced today and Catriona Balfe was nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress - Television Drama category. Again, that is the only nomination for Outlander.

I have a theory why Sam never gets nominated. He's too good-looking, so not taken seriously. It doesn't matter if the female nominees are really good looking because that's sort of expected -- for the most part, most actresses cast in Hollywood productions are gorgeous. But if you look at male actors -- their looks matter less. I mean, look at Bob Odenkirk. who is nominated for "Better Call Saul" -- he's not repulsive, but he's not gorgeous. He's being recognized for his acting skills. With Sam, I think people have a hard time looking past his physical attributes and so don't see his acting, which this season (esp. the first half) has been superb.

From Variety, please listen to this podcast interview with Caitriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies as they discuss Claire and Frank's character progression in season 3.

Balfe added that it was important to the writers and actors to convey that Frank and Claire’s relationship wasn’t doomed from the start.

We really wanted to retain the fact that at a certain point, this was a happy and productive relationship,” she explained. “That had Claire not experienced something that was so much deeper and touched her soul rather than just touched her heart, she probably could’ve come back and been very happy with Frank. For Frank, having learned of the betrayal, it’s hard to move past that. But at the same time, they’re two people who have a lot of respect for each other, maybe not in the passionate sense but in the platonic sense, it’s there.”

Variety has a really lovely interview with Caitriona, Sam and Tobias about their characters' journeys in season 3:

If there’s one thing that’s clear about all three actors, it’s that they take their responsibility to the show and its fans seriously. They’re all quite happy to mock themselves — at one point, there’s a long conversational segue about how Sam would happily wear down Tobias’ superior tennis skills through the deployment of stubborn, unskilled doggedness.

But all three grow contemplative and thoughtful when asked about the complicated lives of the people they play. Over the past two seasons of the show, it’s become obvious that they’ve all worked hard to make the emotional bonds among their characters meaningful and even a little unpredictable.

Pretty good interview. The host sweats a lot, which is a bit distracting...

Sam, Cait and Matthew B. Roberts are interviewed by British Heritage Travel -- and it's a nice change from the usual Outlander interview.

BHT: When BHT spoke to Diana Gabaldon, author of the novels, she said that it was a credit to the Scottish spirit that they didn’t actually succeed in erasing the Highland culture.
Heughan
:
Yeah, absolutely. It’s a very vibrant culture and I think it still feels close to the Scottish people, even now. There’s still talk of independence and there’s a constant state of, not unrest, but of the chance that there could be something better. I guess Scotland has always been the underdog, and we’re quite good at doing that.

This one is with MTV, and features Sam and Cait only. I like this one -- the interviewer asks questions not usually asked of them that aren't necessarily show-related. I have to say that I am getting really tired of the questions about the print shop scene, and I don't understand why they're being so cagey re: what episode that will be -- it's 306. Just a head's up -- the sound is really low -- at times it's difficult to hear (especially the interviewer). You will want to turn up the volume a fair bit.
